We just got back from a fun little family adventure picking Pumpkins at Greenspot Farm. With Pumpkin Patches popping up all over southern California, we really wanted to find a real farm that offered the possibility of picking pumpkins right off the vine. After searching “the google,” we headed out towards Greenspot Farm Pumpkin Patch in Mentone, CA. While the farm is pretty far off the beaten path, Greenspot more than makes up for the trip in character and charm.

Our experience
Greenspot Farms has a welcoming feel, with an atmosphere that allows you to unwind and enjoy everything the farm has to offer. After about 45minutes of exploring, we easily grabbed some seats in the shade and fed our little one without feeling rushed. As we sat back listening to some Halloween classics and realized we were having a perfect time. Relaxed, we really got to embrace the festive nature of the event. We had a great time.
It sounds simple, but you can’t unwind like that in a random parking lot pumpkin patch. Those lots tend to feel more like a carnival or a fair surrounded in straw, which is fun, but not really the experience we’re looking to share our little ones.
Should you go?
We would recommend visiting Greenspot Farms if you’re looking for a more authentic pumpkin picking experience. Sure it’s a drive, but that doesn’t need to stop you from making this into a fun day trip with the loved ones. Southern California has so many great things to offer, you use got to get out of your 10mile bubble and go!
