The Adventure Playground Yorba Linda at Hurless Barton Park is an amazing collection of activities that the kids will love as long as they’re good with heights and like water play. Open from 10 to 5. We arrived when the gates opened.

Our Observations
- What we observed:
- Best to come at 10 am and go on the play structure first when it’s less crowded. Around noon, it took our kids a long time to get through. If a kid/family gets stuck or slows down, everyone gets stuck and slows down. Do the splash pad/water slide at noon when the play structure is busy.
- The play structure is mainly made out of nets. We recommend wearing athletic shoes to move around easier. It is meant for ages 5-12 but there were plenty of younger kids on the play structure. Please be mindful and be patient as the younger kids and parents are making their way up. The play structure is very high off the ground and we don’t recommend going up if you are afraid of heights.
- For the kids, it’s best to not wait until the last minute to use the restroom. In the afternoon, the wait was about 5-8 mins.
- We got there early and were able to save half of a table under the shelter. It was nice to have a spot for our stuff, kids/parents to relax and eat lunch. You can also bring a picnic blanket if the tables are full.
- Rules: No personal tables, tents, canopies, speakers/amplified sound, gum or nuts/shells, pets, glass containers. Swim diapers are required for children not potty trained. No parties, organized activities, or groups of over 8 people. Children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult.
Water Activity Observations
- About the water:
- The splash pad is open during park hours but the water slide has special hours as listed above.
- They do have a rinsing area for the kids after playing in the splash pad, water slide, or mud area.
- Water Slide Rules: All riders must be at least 48” tall. Max rider weight is 300 lbs. Water depth is 3 feet 6 inches. Non-swimmers are not permitted. Only one rider at a time. No tubes, mats, or life jackets are permitted. No jewelry or objects in pockets. No cut-off jeans or swimwear with exposed zippers, buckles, rivets, or metal ornamentation.

What We Said In Our Adventure Playground Yorba Linda Explainer
The towering feature of the park is its giant climbing structure. With the majority of its multi-level structure spanning around 20 feet above the ground. With cargo net tunnels connecting to a cargo net room that has kids playing in a space with nothing under them. The tower also has a sweet metal slide that’ll launch you if you aren’t prepared to stop. So be sure the slide is clear before heading down. It’s an amazingly fun structure. While the rules say it’s for kids 5-12, it seemed like everyone was in there. Regardless of age, we highly recommend whoever’s planning to play in the structure be okay with heights. We saw more than a few young ones overcome with fear without their parents up there to help them down.
The farthest part of the park is home to a pair of seated zip lines. After grabbing on, the kids fly down on a smooth ride before a rubber stopper stops them in place. So be sure the kids are holding on. If they don’t fly off, the smiles on the kids’ faces afterward are priceless.

Water Play
Also, Be sure to bring swim clothes because the adventure park has a couple of water activities to enjoy, with a decent-sized splash pad for the kids at the center of the property. Surrounded by a turf lawn that many families set out blankets to relax on. Parents chilled there as the kids happily soaked up the water falling from above.
Up past the play structure sits the park’s two full-size water slides. It’s a great activity for kids taller than 48 inches. Like Disney, they measure, so don’t waste your line in time if your kids aren’t tall enough. Riders can choose between an open or tunneled slide. Our friend’s daughter loved the slide, and we can’t wait to return once our girls are tall enough to use it.
The park also has a wiffle ball baseball field setup for impromptu games right next to their covered pavilion full of benches for eating and escaping the sun.
